Winner of Best Picture November 2020
The winner of Best Picture in November is Ayse with her gorgeous crochet square and set-up. Congratulations @lillypie57!!!
And here is what we learned about her and her work:
Hi I am Ayse and I live in Dorset with my husband and cat Link who has introduced himself many times in my Instagram feed. I am a mum of 4 wonderful grown up amazing children and nanny to 2 beautiful girls. I work in a supermarket so I’ve worked all through the lockdowns. Crocheting has been my way of getting through this crazy time.
I started knitting when I was very young, taught by my mum who loved every scarf I made no matter how many holes. Crocheting was always a scary craft to me and after one failed attempt never wanted to do it again. Then came lockdown and my daughter suggested I give it a go. So I did. After a lot of shouting and weird looking items I finally produced a reasonable granny square. It was my daughter who suggested Instagram and here I am a winner of the fabulous KnitIQ community. I am so honoured to be part of your community and will carry on with my crocheting and progress.
I love how wool and colours can bring out a pattern no matter how hard or simple it is. My KnitIQ blocking mats have been with me from the start and are part of my crocheting ritual. Thank you and I can’t wait to show you all my next projects. Now here's the winning image:
